Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate site log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or direct message may be retained so our team can answer it. We do not voluntarily disclose that correspondence outside the organization, though a binding legal duty may require disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Normal server logs record limited technical details when a visitor loads a page:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files used to understand traffic patterns, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers help combine that activity into reports. A browser can reject cookies, although blocking them may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Coryell County Criminal History does not build, keep, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general routing information for the Coryell County Sheriff, local court clerks, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the displayed search tools. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules govern information submitted to them. Those practices are beyond our control, so review the provider’s policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Coryell County offices, Texas agencies, courts, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one, the destination’s privacy policy applies. Check it before providing personal details.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites and select ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security controls protect the data we handle. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. A verified report of such data will be handled through deletion.
Your Data Rights
Texas residents may have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Business and Commerce Code Chapter 541, and consumer remedies may arise under the Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Business and Commerce Code Chapter 17. Government-held information follows the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, while criminal-history dissemination is restricted by Government Code Chapter 411. Subject to applicable exceptions, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
